Something different for Independence Day

Independence day has a variety of meanings –

Celebrating America’s freedom from England in 1776.

Will Smith’s movies Independence Day

Or the day that you decide to reduce the amount of tolerations in your life.

That’s right – tolerations….

Those things, activities, people that you are putting up with, dealing with and letting take your precious energy and time.

On Monday, I offer you a cool new perspective to embrace around tolerations…

Uncover them, get curious and then… resolve the things you are putting up with in your life-

That dingy rug in the bedroom

The messy garage

The dirty car

The unfiled papers

The filed papers

Ok—all paper!

If you experience the toleration epidemic – July 4 is the day to begin making a shift.

Take some time, maybe 15-30 minutes – depending on how long it takes you to process this concept.

Think about the things you are tolerating in your life – the people, activities and belongings you’re putting up with – make the list and begin the releasing process.

Don’t censor, just write them all down. Then look at the list and ask yourself, “What would life be like without this ________ in my life?” Would it increase my energy and joy… which in turn increases your engagement and productivity?

Now, prioritize what tolerations will be crossed off of the list first and enjoy every second of the crossing off activity with a black sharpie.

Give yourself ninety days to lessen your tolerations. New tolerations have a way of slipping in when you least expect it.

Learning to navigate their entry and exit is part of this process – embrace it!

Then you can figure out what you are going to do with a bit of extra energy…..let the fun begin!

Share your successes with me on Facebook. I cannot wait to hear what you have let go of and the positive impact it made on your day.

Here’s to your independence from tolerations!
